What is your refund policy?
All bookings are guided by our deposit rules. Please read the deposit section for full details.

Are we guaranteed to see turtles?
Yes we have a 100% guaranteed turtle encounter.
How do we get out there? Do we need to swim back?
We use paddle boards to get out to the turtle area and to come back in. Our guides lead the way and we move at a relaxed, comfortable pace for the whole group.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes! In order to confirm your booking we require a 50% deposit in advance. This ensures we are able to cover any other potential bookings that could have been made should any last minute cancellations occur.
Deposits are also NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERRABLE unless Our team decides to cancel the tour due to unsafe weather conditions which the deposit will then remain with Sea Pace Rarotonga.
If anyone cancels, the deposit cannot be used to cover the remaining balance for others.
Payments can be made online through our booking system with the remaining balance to be paid in cash on the day of your tour. Please note: that FAILURE to bring cash WILL result in a 5% CREDIT CARD FEE on the day of your tour.
What are our turtle tours like?
Our tours are intimate, small-group adventures in the Avaavaroa Passage. You'll spend about 1.5hrs '' island time '' in the water with our local guides, encountering Green Sea Turtles, Tropical fish, Moray Eels and so much more!
How important is it to arrive on time?
We require arrival 30 minutes early for your gear fitting and safety briefing. If you arrive late and the group has already entered the water or started the briefing, safety regulations prevent us from allowing you to join late, and refunds will not be issued.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
To ensure safety in the passage currents, we welcome adventurers aged 5 and up. For younger children or less confident swimmers, we recommend our Premium Tour option for more personalized attention.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
It helps to know how to swim however, we provide high-quality life vests and our guides are always nearby with floatation devices to ensure everyone feels secure throughout the experience.
Do we use sea scooters or motor boats?
No, we do not use sea scooters or motor boats. To be as eco-friendly and low-impact as possible, we aim and avoid fuel and noise pollution in the passage moving at the turtles’ natural pace to ensure a respectful encounter. This non-intrusive approach ensures a peaceful environment for the marine life and an authentic connection for our guests.
What should I bring with me?
Just bring your swimwear, a towel, and reef-safe sunscreen. We provide all high-quality snorkeling gear, including masks, fins, and snorkels. If you have your own favorite mask, feel free to bring it!
How much does a turtle tour cost?

What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority. If sea conditions are unsafe, we will notify you as early as possible to reschedule or provide a full refund. We monitor the tides and swell conditions constantly for your peace of mind.
Are you signed to the MOU?
Yes, Sea Pace is signed to the local Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cook Island Tourism. We follow all agreed safety and marine guidelines to protect the turtles and the reef.
Is the tour accessible for everyone?
While the tour requires some physical activity, we strive to be as inclusive as possible. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific needs so we can determine if our conditions can accommodate you safely.
What days do you operate?
We only operate from Monday to Friday. We do not run tours on weekends.
How do I book or change my reservation?
You can book directly through our website using the 'Book Now' button. If you need to change your date, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance via email or phone for a hassle-free adjustment. Again please note that the deposit policy will apply.
Do you offer pick up and drop off?
No, we don’t offer pick up and drop off. Guests need to make their own way to the meeting point.
Do you have bathrooms on site?
No, we don’t have bathrooms on site. Please use the toilet before you arrive at our meeting point.
Can I book a larger group?
Yes, you can book a larger group. Just send our team a message or email us and we’ll let you know what’s possible for your dates.
Do you offer photography?
We only offer photography on our premium tours. On these trips, your guide will capture all the adventure. Please allow upto 48hrs to receive your photos.
